I am a passionate learner and educator who has over fifteen years of teaching
experience. Since the start of my teaching career I have taught a wide variety of subjects and
lessons in both primary and secondary schools. I have started multiple Multi-Media programs
in several schools, which have evolved over the years from analog to digital. I am
constantly learning and refining my craft as a teacher. Over the past years I have become an
Apple Certified Editor in Final Cut Pro 6 an Apple Distinguished Educator as well as an
Apple Education Trainer. I have served as a board member for the Canadian Apple
Distinguished Educator program for the past four years. In 2012 I started the journey in
furthuring my formal education and now I have my Masters Degree in Educational
Technology and Design.
I have spent my whole teaching career just as most teachers do, I am constantly looking to
inprove my teaching so my students achievement increases. This is a constant search for
innovation in both my pedagogy as well as my adaptation of the curriculum. My journey
has lead me down a path to find the best way to infuse technology in my classroom.
One passion of mine is to find ways to create authentic learning experiences for my students.
One of these new innovations in my teaching has lead into his development of my
collaborative publishing assignment where he and his students all create two pages for a
book in hi
s series “Found It”. Found it is an interactive children’s search and find book. You
can get your own free copy of any book in the “Found It” series for free on the books page.
I love sharing what I do in my classroom with others. This is why I have developed
the Innovative Teacher Academy. This is the umbrella for me to share my beliefs, ideas,
thoughts, and practices with other educators from all over the world.
